Thanks ilippu, I've seen the 2 for "died" a lot in barred puzzles but can't recall ever seing it in a Prize - not that I keep note but... you know 🤔

Put me down as another fan of 26, and as having a great deal of head-scratching over 24. Never heard of the exam or the insurance company, although not surprisingly, given as geeker called it, the double UK-centric nature.

Still not sure of the parsing of 3d.

3d - "first class benefits" is 1,4 and the 4 part goes around/'to be received' 3 leter "still" (very devious)

As often seems to happen when there's a tractable Prize, Rosa Klebb (aka Arachne) is in the FT. Think I'll have a shot at that.

I'm probably not going to win any friends by saying this, but while this was a pleasant enough puzzle, I found it underwhelming for the Prize slot - more of a Tuesday really, which is disappointing.

Only a few minutes in. But, if I have the right answer (meaning last word of clue) can anybody explain the cat part of 1a without giving spoilers. Everything else parses perfectly. There just might be a meaning there I don't know.

Hi Rocky, you will see the cat, if you consider Saint as one letter, not two.
