Just got 30. Colloquial three-letter term for gosh with usual abbreviation for pastor in (shortened) word for awful.

ukridge/gitto - 27 wordplay is a synonym for ' flags', with abbrev for 'James' afterwards (obviously you take out an extra letter). Definition last 3 words.

The entry of the radials was a bit of a grind at times but overall a tour de force.

Thanks, Samson.

After eventually shelving this yesterday because of those 3 pesky clues, I finish it off in 10mins this morning. I spotted a bigger problem in that I had entered an incorrect letter (one that doesn't even exist in the answer!) in the cell for the start of the final word in the 1st ring. Once I spotted that I immediately knew what that final word was and everything fell into place. I only have a very small gripe, but it did hold me up for quite a while, and that is that "pots" in ring clue 40 seems, to me at least, to be stretching it a bit for a fair definition.

Synonyms directly linked by ‘vase’ in both Chambers and Bradford’s, to be fair.

You must have later editions than me HW7, because they don't in my copies. The only "V" in my Bradford's for pot is Vial.

It’s one of those non-commutative couplings that both reference texts occasionally have.

If you search under ‘pot’ you don’t get ‘vase’, but if you search ‘vase’ you get ‘pot’ (and the entry).

A very enjoyable puzzle and theme. Both this year's circular puzzles have been fun and good logical challenges.
Can anyone give me a hint on 17: it's the only thing I can't work out.

Definition is the last two words. Two letters for Di (!) then two-letter abbreviation for 'on account of' containing a word for 'designation' missing a letter.
