The most challenging I can remember for a while. Head scratching re: 24a ( never heard the term before), 7a and not sure what the “e” is doing in 16a.
I am stuck on the last one: 19a…..I’ll be grateful for assistance.
COD: 5d.

19 the support is financial (4 letters). There's a standard abbreviation for "prince" included. Definition at end. Difficult to say more without spoiling.

Chrise, many thanks! I wouldn’t have got there without you. A lovely clue.

Enjoyable Everyman, turned out a little easier than I thought at first.

I too have only ever encountered 11a in crosswords!

Everyman seems to hit my Goldilocks zone, for a moderate workout on a Sunday.

Nicola, re 16a: have another look at your spelling of the answer - there is no 'e' in it!
7d: it's air as in airwaves (TV)

@ianwil
Your L is wrong
You probably have the wrong anagram for 9a

Enjoyed this a lot, apart from 11a - I've never heard this expression before either, and I don't like it!! I don't think it parses properly tense-wise either, with the three letters for 'Everyman's'. Shouldn't there be a 'got' in there?

I'm still not understanding 19d though - I got it from the definition and crossers, but can't see what Pitt the Elder has to do with it.

Does anyone else think that 5d could have been a triple def?!

Favourites are 2d, 7d and 19a
