Hello fellow night owls.

This is my first attempt at this puzzle. What a gem - some brilliant clues. It’s taken me the guts of an hour to parse 7, but now I can sleep happy. Love 26 😁

Also, in my email to Norah asking her to delete that other thread, I made a point of asking her to copy your post and repost it on here.

I don't know if your references to the following were questions or you were just citing them as examples of misdirections but, if the former....

"parliamentarians" are the first 3 letters of the answer and...

"mustang sound" is the first 5 letters of answer

I didn't know you weren't a Prize regular - I think it's because it's many of the same gang as do the Everyman.

I didn't actually have the operation. I assumed that as I'd been referred by my GP I'd just go in and they would automatically know what to do and, well.... just do it!

But no, I saw a hospital doctor who has now referred me to another hospital for the actual operation which, it turns out, is more complicated than I first thought. My initial understanding was they would just snip the thickened ligament and my finger would spring back into shape, but the bit of ligament in question basically runs the length of my hand so the op will take at least a couple of hours - shows what I kow!

Similar experience to others and curiously I also ended up with the crossing 20 and 26 as last ones in.

7d parses as 1,4 inside 4. A little lifting and separating is required.

Thanks Jono I have the parsing but not the part of the clue which gives the answer. I can only think that it is 3 somehow
