Please help me in parsing / solving this cryptic clue -
"Put together trim clothing fabric made of silk (7)"

Definition is put together. A four-letter verb for to trim surrounds a three-letter cloth, traditionally made of silk (Chambers doesn’t list it as such, but Collins does). The three-letter word is common in crosswords, but usually defined as agent or theatre.

Thanks Quisling and mattrom. Got the answer. I could identify the defintion and word play with clothing as covering. But did not get the right words for trim and silk. I'll prepare well next time.

Got it, actually. Definition was the somewhat cheeky "flashy tower."

Wordplay works, but not sure if "knackered" fits the definition.

Looks good Geeker.
Chambers gives one definition of prostrate as “completely exhausted”.
