Not routine. The synonym for turn you’re looking for is go, and the answer’s main meaning is a slowish gait, quicker than walking

Bharat, I'm not surprised you didn't get the answer quickly and easily. I feel the clue's definitely from the rather clunky stable (next door to 'underwhelming surface reading').

JOGTROT. Thanks Quisling. Needed a lot of spoonfeeding to get the answer.

I was unaware of that meaning. I had to get it from the wordplay, and assumed it must have “ogtr” inside it. Dogtrot would fit the wordplay too, but jogtrot has that definition listed

Please help me in parsing / solving this cryptic clue -
"End of tense round one (5) End of tense round one (5)"

The clue repeats itself twice. I don't know whether it was intentional or not. Either way I am unable solve it. Please help.

Sorry, just saw this. I think it must be “telos”. An Ancient Greek word meaning end. T for tense, followed by sole (one) reversed (round). Apologies I didn’t get to it earlier
