This is obscure. A two letter word for mutton, in printing, hence on plate, followed by a traditional English beer, and then two single letters. Crabby people can be described as this

Thanks Quisling. Could get the word. Eventhough I had the word earlier, I dismissed it thinking that two letter for mutton on plate is insufficient. A revisit after your parsing, made it clear.
