Finished: very much a double act on this as my husband solved the first half dozen and got the theme, while I couldn't solve any at first (including my own birthplace at 16a). But with the the help of Wikipedia's list for the theme we cracked them all. Tried CrosswordSolver unsuccessfully for 26 (not listed) and 24 (because I had 2 alternatives for 1st letter, both wrong, before I finally solved 29!)
Foi: 16a (him, not me!)
Loi: 26a
Cod: 23: wrote it in from theme and crossers, then rubbed it out as baffled, before spotting both parts of the clue!

Easier than some.

2D is really baffling me, as I think it might end in a vowel - based on my guess for 14A
Any slight hint would be appreciated.
I have a few others I can't do and suspect I never will but we'll see.
I'm just not that good at these, my average is maybe 70% completeion (without hints) and I probably finish 1/10.

2d parsing is tricky but maybe somewhat clunky. Solution does end in a vowel.
Definition "Puzzle over".
Parses as (2,2) [the tricky part] inside 3 ("time")

Late start on Sunday, nearly there. Finished apart from 22d, which hasn’t been mentioned on forum so I’m obviously being stupid.Enjoyed it and managed with minimal help from forum but resorted to Google for help with theme.
FOI 10
COD 19
LOI will be 22 !
I know some purists frown on resorting to Google but to me it is all part of the puzzle solving process.
Took me ages to get 26 after failing with word search but with hint about pm on forum I found it in Chambers.
Thanks to Kite for an interesting prize crossword.

Can’t parse 22, but here’s a bonus clue:

Contribute to what Trump had for breakfast, dinner, and tea (6)

22d: definition "Contribute". Spoonerism (1st letters interchanged) of a (2,4) phrase for "refusal of engagement". As opposed to raffles's parsing, which is (3,3) with the 1st and 3d letters of 1st word interchanged.

Thanks Geeker. Sleepy me, I’d forgotten I had parsed the original.

Thank you, geeker, I've got it now, along with some renewed incentive to continue - with 9 unsolved clues remaining.
Unusually for me, I saw the theme quite quickly which helped a lot.

Congrats to the Europeans for winning the Ryder Cup.

Thanks to geeker and rafflesthegt , I had the solution but dismissed it ,couldn’t see parsing until you showed me . Knew there was a spoonerism there but failed to spot it. Cheers guys, and thanks again.

Now I have, surprise, finished it.

Little bit of trouble with the parsing of 26A: I have 'PM' and 'American jobs' but don't get how 'not dealing with' resolves the removal of the extra letters. Oh, now I see... well, yes, it's OK by me.

I guess yesterday was a slow brain day.
