I can't imagine how Harribobs constructed this with such limited material to draw on. Amazing! The only thing that held me up was that I had forgotten it was probably created last year. Again, it's a pleasure to have a puzzle that doesn't involve too much dictionary work and that has clever but accessible anagrams.

I found 10 down ok. I think you are reading the clue wrong.

10D - it’s thematic in the sense of the overall theme… but there are no removed words.

10 down is a beautiful clue! I was sure it must contain extra words, which held me up for a while.

Enjoyed this very much. Very impressive construction.

I have identified all the teams. I'm just not sure where to assemble the final one. I presume there is somewhere specific meant by the 'winners area', but I can't see it?

Other loose end is the wordplay for 34a (I have the excluded words and the definition).

Thanks

sh - not sure if this is a serious question or not but how about that big area entitled Winners?

Answer buried in the clue moving E to W.

Thanks both. I had indeed completely missed that line below the grid. I had become convinced that it must be something to to with 17a.

Thanks on 34a, not my favourite clue - don't like it when only a part of the clue does double duty like that, doesn't seem right.

Overall very enjoyable though.

Kudos to Harribobs - I have not a clue as to how he put this grid together!
