Well, one clue left (Re-explain not having sex to end quivering nether regions, 8) so I decided to try to place the answers. It all seemed to be working until I got left with top right corner and no answers that will fit.

For your one clue left remove the X and anagram it

Top right ...do you mean across clue going there or 6d?

thank you Kirky. I did try that anagram but couldn't parse it. I have top of 4d, top of 5d, 6d' end of 20a but see too that top of 2d diesn't work. I have royally messed up somewhere!

"to begin jousting" goes in top of 5d...
"enraged" ......at beg of 7a....
