About ten left, challenging to say the least. Any hi nts on 20ac, 27ac, 34ac, 52ac and 60ac greatly appreciated.

52a starts with 'wag'...joke teller.
34a Latin phrase for 'see above'.
I can't help with the other two, not done them yet.

If so, it doesn't cross properly with 55d... avert...Ward off hail.

Tilly2, I think 58a may be the name of a country.

It’s not Utrecht. The last four letters are a French word for eldest, and the definition is the final word of the clue

20ac - Think of how you might beat a grain crop
27ac - Definition is last four words - wordplay a partial anagram (but Mark leaves) plus ?R
60ac - my last one, and I too am stuck. Several words fit S?S?E? but none seem to tie in with whatever the definition is - Ends? Ends of branches? the way? block the way?
Any clues from others welcome
