Sorry, I just glanced at 56d and forgot how I parsed it yesterday. It's two added letters inside an old version of roulette. 54a could either be the car code or community, not sure but I'm guessing the car code comes from the community.

Where is everyone? I’ve been tussling with this all day, off and on and can’t believe how few cries for help there have been! I’ve got 2 down clues to get and 4 acrosses, but I can’t get my last 6 letter combinations to make any sensible answers. I fear this may be a DNF. I’ve obviously gone wrong somewhere. So disappointing!
