Some very strange words this week!

Please can anyone help with 23d?

Papa, with experience, upset about note (8)

I have - E - C - I - E. Assuming all those letters are correct, one answer which would fit is PERCEIVE. But apart from possibly meaning "note" and starting with P (Papa in the NATO alphabet), I can't see any other reason for it. Please can someone put me out of my misery?

windblow? Not a word I know, but it's WIND and BOW (bend twice) around L for large

Can anyone help parse 47d please.
“Choreographer remains before fashionable society”.
I have -S-T-N and assume it is ASHTON. I get “ash” as “remains” but don’t see “ton” as “fashionable society”.

Ton definitely is 'fashionable society', Chambers defines it as 'fashion, people of fashion'. It's from the French.

I have finally fought my way through to the end, but remain unable to parse my answer to 55ac "Immoral sort of game, smuggling dope at end of leave" : _e_e_e_a_e. "Degenerate" satisfies "Immoral" but I cannot see the rest of it!

Game is deer (the animal)
Dope is gen (as in info)
AT is from the clue, then end of leavE
