20 is a subbie (subtractive anagram) but the letters to be subtracted are somewhat disguised.

Anagrist pre-subtraction is "See a mate".

Anagram is "poor", the subtraction is indicated by "not as", but "as" is tricky and isn't the "obvious" thing. Hard to explain fully without spoiler.

Hi Foxy,

20d - anagram/'poor' of 3 words in the clue but without/'not' the "as" (the S signifies a plural so "as" is more than one A) - definition is "value"
