Interesting theme, but I feel I have seen it before

I thought at first the note ("Constrained" etc) was just Gemelo showing off! Took me a half dozen answers before it became clear.

Enjoyed this. Once I realised the implications of the constraint it actually made things easier.

Kirky, usual two letters for Spain inside four letters for the Canadians. Chambers says they are from parts of America and Canada.

Jon, you are knowledgeable about all things relating to naming of crosswords.

What is the correct/best title for this new puzzle? The first one just said Gemelo 1 but this week it says Observer Gemelo 2.

Gemelo has taken over from Azed.
All the past Azed threads were just Azed and the number (not Guardian Azed number).

So for consistency I think Gemelo number is fine.

Similarly, we don’t use Observer Everyman number, just Everyman number.

Hope that makes sense.

I agree that Gemelo 1, Gemelo 2 etc is fine, I think the 'Observer' we've had has been a little useful as it's such a new puzzle. If we'd just had Gemelo I from the beginning, I expect we'd have had people asking 'What is Gemelo?'!

As it was a new puzzle, I wanted to get it right. I’ll leave Observer in for this week but in future I will just make it Gemelo.
