I suspect that one of the clashes you've found is not as intended.

Pebble, if you have the first two words of the message and you have found the creators in the grid, a quick search should get you to the source. From there you may be able to figure out the anagram and the words revealed by the clashes.

Similarly to Pebble I found this easy at first but very tough to finish off. Thanks for the challenge, Bungo, and for much entertaining misdirection...

I didn't find the endgame instructions particularly precise, but also not overly GWIT. I never really made sense of why the final word in the message was scrambled. Anyhow, some nice clues and a resilient puzzle. Thanks Bungo.

PS I never quite parsed 32d.

elpenor, did you mean 32a?

elpenor - 32a is wordplay: "look" (2 letters), "back" (reversed), + 6th omitted letter giving the def of the 4 last words - a def which is not supported by my 1998 edition of the BRB but appears in more recent editions.

Whoops - I omitted a single letter for "date".

I've got the answers to 23D and 26D, but can't parse them. Any tips, please?

23d - Mark is M as usual but here spelled out as "em" and inserted into "roulade" for meat rolled, giving "remoulade" as a filling sauce
