Enjoyable, and somewhat easier than of late. Thanks to someone last week mentioning that you could change the overriding of letters in the settings, it's also much easier to fill in the grid!

I think 11d is my COD. I agree that there were rather a lot of anagrams.

Re the discussion on 27a; I wasn't able to parse it until reading the comments, so thanks for that. But now that I understand it, surely Troubles should have been singular? The clue would have worked just as well.

re 15 down: I am sure I have the answer from the last three words of the clue but can someone explain the first part? & I agree, there are a lot of anagrams this week.

15 parses as 3 ("once called"), 5 ("enjoys fancy meal", 1 ("initially suppressing"). Defn. is last 3 words of the clue.

Having trouble parsing 20 (despite have worn them!).

20 parses 1, 1, 3, 1

The first 2 1s are standard abbrevs, the 3 is a word in the clue, the final 1 is a last letter of a word in the clue.
