Not seen anyone pitch for CoD yet.

So I wonder if it's 27a. Although I liked 11d. Perhaps 15d as well. Though none really jump out at me.

Any other candidates?

Nice gentle start to the day. Loved the rhyming pair. 5d was a new word for me but easy to get as it was the primarily clue.
Happy Sunday everyone.

Thanks for the explanation of 27a Mattrom - Brendan wasn't the only one to be troubled by it!
Can anyone explain the 'Little islands' in 2d? I just can't see (or hear) it.
COD 11d ... for the groany PDM.

Hi Phil,
Little islands are a homophone of the answer, a three or four letter word (depending on the spelling), which pops up in crosswords fairly regularly… there are some in the Thames.

Thanks Jono. I vaguely remember seeing the 4-letter spelling before, but the 3-letter (which is the one we need, I guess) is new to me.

Hi Cosmo,
What goes before York and Orleans? The answer is used sarcastically.
