Hi all, bit of a newbie at this and struggling on 8D 'Society in old Elizabeth I's rule' (6) and 11A 'Patch article on male "transitional" (9). Looking for some clues to these rather than the complete answer please. Thanks!

8 The usual Old abbreviation, the usual four letter Elizabeth I, with the usual Society in between the two. It's 'rule' more in the ' occupy your thoughts' than rule, reign.

The 'article' could be in a newspaper or magazine, then 'transitional' indicates an anagram...

Looks like “crawler”.
OBN is old boys network, I assume.

Actually OBN is “Order of the Brown Nose”, a subsection of Private Eye devoted to instances of excessive sycophancy
