Well I rattled through that pretty swiftly. Agree about the plural in 22d.
With a certain answer, I wonder if Everyman is answering the question I posed in yesterday’s Azed thread.

16d - 3 letter "one shooting" goes around both 2 letter "outstripped hare" and the reversed/"over" of 3 letter "backing".

3d - each word in the clue is defined by "spot", "mark" and "point" with the definition being at the very end... 😉
