Janeiro, conflict is the definition. Wordplay is the usual for “regular”, and you need a letter pair in front.

Thanks Jono, I scanned all the replies looking for help with the 5 letter L word first and must have missed organ stops. Quite a lot of comments this week!
Really enjoyed the crossword apart from those two.

Rocky -I’m stuck on this one too, but if 2 letters Lithuania goes round the anagram and theme letters, it can’t fit in with the alphabetical presentation can it? Or am I being dense?

The theme letters are at the beginning and so Lithuania only goes around the anagram after them
