The 4-letter words were tricky: I found 3 possible boats with the starting letters and an A pair, as well as the 2 girls' names.

And I got the organ stop, after the hint here, by scanning Wikipedia's list of them which includes lots of alternative names.

Well I think I have it all solved but with one issue. I have used the AT (across) couplet twice and the AV (across not at all). Clearly one of my AT answers should be AV and logic means it must be the fifth clue. But I the four letter word for Arabic must use AV as I can find no trace online for the four letter word using AT to mean Arabic. What am I missing here?

Arabic is a two letter abbreviation in Chambers

Thanks Jono. Just a little bit too subtle for me to see. Couldn't get past the fact that Avar is an Arabic language.

I agree, I’m sure many of us went down the same rabbit hole of Arabic languages!

All I can say is Maskerade is either incredibly smart (likely) or has way too much time on his hands. I suspect he's been on this since Boxing Day. I thought it was a masterpiece. I guess some of the obscure answers were essential to be able to fit this all in. Thank God I didn't pass on this because I really enjoyed it. I'd never have finished without all your assistance on here so thanks. Especially those (Brendan) who got the boat and zone mixed up because that showed me the error of my ways. Next Bank Holiday is only a few weeks away but I say to Maskerade take a break. You've earned it.

Had biblical land in wrong place so have just finished new grid , and have managed to place the tricky four letter clues correctly.
However I still have one unsolved clue the Taoiseach , as no one else has mentioned it I am obviously being pretty stupid!

Good afternoon all.
Very late to the party, as I’ve had to fit my solving in around singing, socialising and recovering.

I’ve enjoyed the challenge, but am having trouble with YA. The only place it would appear to fit would require the word to start with YA, but that wouldn’t fit the alphabetical order of the solutions, and nor would it appear to fit the definition in the clue.

I’d be grateful for any light that anyone can shed.
