Hi again PDS and Chrise
I'd already got 29ac and 24d, both PDMs. But 4d, the style similar to baroque escapes me - perhaps my 12ac is wrong. It gives me R?C?T? for 4d. I must give more thought to 25d -or not - I've just got it! I'll give the other more thought overnight before ringing my friend in Sheffield tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the extra hour in bed tonight. It has been a busy and tiring week with the prospect of picking our grapes tomorrow. Then I'll have to do something with them - I think Grape Jelly this year.

Your 12A is wrong, yes. It's a typeface and they are not suitable for people with large heads.

Wonder if this will work

Hello

I'd be surprised if it does work ;)

Yep, that totally did not work ;)

In HTML it probably would but I don't think this forum supports arbitrary HTML codes.

Anyway if you know the Chanel it should be obvious what the incorrect letter is in 12A. Maybe should have been clue number 5 rather than 4!

Good morning / afternoon all. This one defeated me so utterly that the list of those I can't do is too long. I will settle for gleaning what I can from the posts here and wait for the solution to be published.

I was surprised as I thought, based on weekday crosswords, that I had a good handle on Picaroon. Oh well, better luck next time.

Afternoon all, am also struggling with this, but with a little help from you lot have done NW and SE . A gentle nudge for other corners and I feel I might get there, so any of 6,7,8,14,15 would be marvellous

6: defn. "on eliminating waste"
Parses as ]1 (chapter), 2 (on)] inside 2-4 (defector to Labour)

The 1 arguably more often appears as 2

7 is an anagram of 2 words ("high") containing 3 letter "rocks" reversed.
8 is French "a" + 3 letter "revolutionary" containing 4 letter "yarn" reversed.

14 is an anagram
15 is 2 letter "gold" + 2 letter "policeman" + 1 letter "ring" + 4 letter "caution"

Hi Dazymay,

6d - the "defector to Labour" could also be described as having belonged to another party and is 2,4 that goes both 1 letter "chapter" and 2 letter "on".

14d - straight anagram

8g - anagram around 3 letter "rocks" (as used in drinks)
