Afternoon all, bit late to the party, enjoyed this one myself, not sure what the fuss is about.

Stuck in bottom right corner though, ignorance of opera being the main stocking point but also clueless on 22, 19, 20 and 26.

A gentle nudge from you fine people welcome

22 - think of 'built' as indicating an anagram with the answer being a type that you might see on the High St. (trying not to give away too much)
18, 19 is a long anagram, so once you have the first 4 words, there isn't much left and if you google the phrase you will see it.
20 is an anagram
26 is explained elsewhere but the think of another way of saying 'that must have cost a mint'.

And to the opera - think South / American / girl's name.
