Totally agree Snowwhite, like Chrise I’m not a fan of Paul . My top compiler is Maskarade who in my opinion comes close to the master.
COD 17d
Not sure about parsing of 28a.

Hi Dhope,

28a - Single letter "South" + 2 letter "American" + 4 letter "girl" (my pet hate is setter's using names as part of wordplay - seriously, don't get me started
🤬) - definition is "operatic bride" (a bride in a specific opera)

Almost done - unusual for me when faces with Paul. However still don't get the clue for 17d - any hints appreciated.

has anyone said that it's 3,4,1? the 3,4 is a bit loose.

17d - "where one has relocated" is 3,4 then single letter "male" - definition is "article".

This was my last one in as I couldn't see the definition.
