Thanks, cd. I don't have the app (and don't particularly want to buy it!) but it seems unfair if the app contains words that the BRB doesn't. (If I had a humph icon, I'd use it now...)

I don’t have the BRB but would be surprised if it wasn’t in there as the app is just a copy as far as I am aware

I think CD is referring to the ability of the app to search for words based on a combination of known letters and wildcards; not to a different vocabulary.

DSC, the word is in Chambers. The app simply helps with letter patterns, as does the old CD ROM version from 2005 that I still use regularly.

Thanks Candledave and Gitto
For Radial 2, I had thought of the meaning, but I can’t see how the wordplay works, presumably for the first four letters?

Take the initial letter off a synonym of reek

This was a delightful palate cleanser after last week’s rewarding but exhausting solve!

I have a complete grid but there is one clue whose wordplay is slightly eluding me:

10 Radial: Without seeming acceptable, twice succeeded to start with

I have the extra letter and solution, and I see much of the wordplay, but in order to fully construct the answer I’m using “twice”…twice. I don’t see any reason that would be allowed so I may be mis-parsing something.

Hi Chris,

10 - 3 letter "twice" + single letter "succeeded" + 2 letter "acceptable" - definition is "without seeming" minus the extra letter (it's a Shakespearean word)
