Jordan @ 11, many thanks. My wife thinks I can be a grumpy git too but I enjoyed this one

Having given up on last week’s Listener, this was a comforting “welcome back”. I thought it was very cleverly constructed and (despite definitely being a card-carrying grumpy old git) very fair. And the completed grid and extra letters gave me a broad smile. Thank you, Ace of Hearts.

It’s mainly done, but I can’t see what goes in 41 Ring clue. “Long practised….. “. Nothing fits the letters I have.

For 2 Radial , Missing opening……, there are two possibilities that fit, but I can’t parse either,
Thanks in anticipation

Dylan - 41, it’s two words and the piano is the first word of it

2 - the definition is the last word

Despite candledave's hint at #6 I still am stuck with the two unches (letters 2 and 4) in 37. Any more clues from elsewhere? Is bridge the card game or a thing that crosses something?

What a delightful puzzle after the tedium of last week when I jacked it in with half cold solved and getting nowhere. My only niggle was the fact that I was able to get the message from the extra letters very early on when I checked the BRB for the definition of one of the unclued ring 3 solutions. I would have liked to have worked harder to crack that element. Thanks to The Ace of Hearts for a very enjoyable four hour solve.

.....apologies, please read "undefined" for "unclued".

Sorry dsc was trying not to give too much away. Yes, it’s the bridge game but that won’t help much as that aspect is pretty obscure.

If you have the Chambers app, you won’t have many options if you have the other four letters and you’ll see one has a slang meaning of prize money.
