Gosh that was a slog - and thanks to this forum for helping me with my LOI - the Spanish name. I was also held up by having my two theme letters at positions 2&3 in 27 rather than 1&2 which obviously confused me with 32. Enjoyed it very much in the end.

I've still got lots to do. Thanks to your hint about sausages - it led me to the theme. I just have to solve the clues. I'll give it another half hour tonight.

I'm a bit fed up as I was so engrossed in the crossword I've burnt my Simnel cakes. All that effort - possibly in vain.

I hope you and others will be around tomorrow for loads of hints.

I’ve just noticed 41a at the centre of the grid. If this is deliberate, Maskarade may not have been happy with yesterday’s result. And 45a is emblematic of 41a.
46d is accurate though! 😂

Anyone who knows much about 41a from my handle on here you can see I was not happy about yesterday's result at all.

Well spotted Jono, having them together like that makes me think it's unlikely to be a coincidence.
