Quite good fun, but definitely a game of two halves. Started unusually smoothly for Soup, but struggled with last few.

So there's only one change in each word entered?

By Soup's standards this was pretty much a doddle for the first 90%, then things got tricky. I have no idea how get the original answer to 20 down, though the change must be to the first letter. I can think of a couple of words that loosely define as "deposits" but can't see where the South African wine fits in at all?

Hi loge, South Africa is one of the 2 letter abbreviations and the wine is French. The change is to the 3rd letter.

Slowly staggering towards the end although finding it increasingly difficult as I do so. Can I just confirm that there is (at least) one case where the two crossing words share their change of letter? It's the only such occurrence that I've found, so I'm worried that I may have gone wrong. Thanks.

I am a little over halfway and have two instances of shared changes.
