I'm stuck with the Spoonerism at 5d and the crossing answer at 10a.
Could anyone help please.

Tony, the “drunk” bit of the Spoonerism is, er, colloquial. The drinkers in 10a are much more delicate.

Thanks. I now have 10a and am embarrassed that it was so straightforward, but the only answer I have for 10 down is what Archimedes could be said to have done with a change at the 5th letter ?

The 5th letter is a changer for 12a. As for the 7th… Eureka!

Thanks for confirming. Not convinced by the Spoonerism though. 2 past participles don't seem to quite work properly ?

I'm stuck with the last four in the NW corner: the 1s, 9a and 2d. Think I have everything else. Any pointers?

Garble,
2d is an anagram
9a. Remove the first letters from 2 words for 'short-term employees'
Is the other one 1a or 1d?
