Hi Rocky,

22a - Is a double definition but I'd be surprised if many people knew the "support in the air" meaning of the answer - at least I didn't!

23d - Is an unusual word. Single letter "upper class" + 5 letter "foolish talk" - definition is "raise the standard of".

26a - 4 letter "instrument" + single letter "heavy end" - definition is "grasping female".

Hi Brendan
I had a different take on 22. Definition last 3 words, then a 3 letter support inside a 4 letter "air".

Yes, that sounds better Chris. Chambers gives it as "a raised area or stand" so "support in the air" but I wasn't happy with it so I think you're right.

I had the same as Chris, but I see Brendan’s double defn now, both seem to work

Fairly hard today I thought. I needed to come here for the parsing of 12A which was my last one in, had the correct answer, just couldn't parse it.

I also parsed 22A as 3 letter support inside a 4 letter air.

29A was my COD.

Shakespeare theme for sure I think; I count 2d, 8d, 11a, 12a, 13a, 16d, 19d, 24d, 27d, and possibly 17a and 22a (though I’d have to check).

26A comes up 4 times in the works of Billy Shakes apparently, although it's all Greek (myth) to me

Okay maybe not 17a, but Ariel performs the figure of 26a.

Beat me to it paradigmshifter; likewise 6d, including in the same play.

Good work Crosbie, I’d add 26a (from The Tempest). And 10a of course
