In post@1, I incorrectly stated that this puzzle was not interactive. I did immediately correct this in @2 but, concerned it might be too easily overlooked, I had wanted to utilise the bold, italics and/or underline functions available here but wasn't totally sure how to do it. To that end, I hope nobody minds if I give it a practice go here, in case a similar situation should arise in the future.

I would try combinations but baby steps and all that:-)

I've enjoyed this Maskerade, as I have most of his "specials", but I still haven't been able to work out 1 Across. I imagine that my "T" is correct
for the third letter, only I haven't yet equated the "small" reference in 2 Down to the overall meaning of the answer.

Can anyone assist with my previous posting?

1a and 2d are both theme words. Your T is correct. See @78 for 1a. As discussed in the thread there is no definition for 2d. ‘Small flute’ is a four letter word without I.
