21 If you're 'on your uppers', you're short of money (an old phrase, seldom used nowadays) and Uppers are also drugs.

Is the clue for 3 D correct? It works if 'going' is 'goes'...

Well deduced, Malone. The original clue is ‘goes’.

This is actually from the Times Championship in 2019, and it’s the final puzzle.

Thanks, Jono. When I had the answer originally, in my head, I hadn't noticed that it wouldn't work with the clue as given. I tried a few things, nothing worked, so I thought I'd query the wording.

Apologies again, I need to double check these clues in case my phone autocorrects.
