I solved a few, then used a wordsearch for the long one, then threw the puzzle away in disgust. What a ridiculous solution to include in a crossword!

Agree. 1d is unfair. Without the crossers and Google, I could not have got this vague anagram.

Literally so. Use x for wrong, to get this vague answer.

Hm. Lots to enjoy in this puzzle, where I had several answers dawn on me after I half-parsed the wordplay. But 1d defeated me (despite having all the crossers) and after having googled the answer it feels completely unfair.

I liked 3d once the penny dropped, and 23d for an excellent surface reading.

I'm not convinced by 6d/8d and the long anagram. Using the underscore to get the fodder to work out seems inelegant.

Is 3d a synonym for rehab?

yes, docrum. I have a problem with 23 - a Shakespearean homophobe fits with the first three letters a book of the Bible, but if that's it where's the important bit?
