Hi gasmanjack
6 is a rather unlikely backwards hidden.
7 is my favourite clue. "More" isn't a comparitive!

Hi Gasmanjack,

6a - definition is "president" and is a 3 letter "vehicle" followed by a letter denoting it is "eighth".

7d "More" is a name and is an anagram/"playing" of "out" + a 7 letter "key player" - definition is "More possibly".

Thanks both; Chrise, I think you’re referring to 5.

Working my way through this gradually. Have come a bit unstuck in the southwest corner. Felt 2d should really have been peer rather than peer's.

At this point help with 16 down would be valuable

Hi Rocky,

16d is a straight anagram - definition is a rather loose "shaky grounds"

Thanks Brendan I wasn't seeing that at all. I got that there was certainly part of an anagram in there but the rest was a blank.

Ok all done all be it with a little help from Crossword solver at the end. Quite enjoyable though a few words that were new to me. Never heard of 15a and not helped by the fact that I got hung up on the wrong mafia boss word.

Hi everyone

I thought this was going to be easy when I wrote in 1ac and 9ac straight away. But it went slowly from then on. I was pleased to get 12ac and parse it and 11d. But I am stuck on a number including 3d , 20ac and 13d. I have no idea what 1d might be.

For 3d I have S?A?T??????? I didn't find the clue above very helpful.
For 20ac I have ??????I???R?

I think I have just parsed 1d thanks to Chris saying the abbreviation is two letters.

A hint for 13d would also help. I only have the last letter.

I've spent much of the day writing quiz questions for our U3A zoom quiz. I still have to look up the chemical formula for alcohol. I used to know it a long time ago. Perhaps Chris can help me.
