I'll start this thread.

Across clues may have an extra word.
Down clues may have an extra word. Or a section of the answer has to be omitted. Wordplay is for grid entry in that case.

13a. Seaweed lives well on oak bark (9)

12d. Thick Latin book in lawyer's possession is not 10 (9, two wds)

26d. Lusitanian plant yielding spice must be cut by a 14 (6)

Let me know if 10 or 14 above refer to the clue number.
I will then provide those clues.

Lumen, I felt the same and had to ignore quite a few clues for a while! Things became much easier when I saw what the 'section removed' involved - and that only happened once I'd got a lot of Across answers entered.
