I still don't get 30. From Brendan, HOOR means difficult person? Where?

Also, I don't have the first letter in 33, and can't find it anywhere I've looked.

Thanks for the confirmation on 34.

Mathprofrockstar, the Hoor is in Chambers, so perfectly valid!

Mathsprofrockstar, 33 A is also in Chambers. If you look again, it should be a very quick search...!

I only have the crossword dictionary, so I use the Chambers online search, and it didn't turn up.

Found it in a general online search, and the origin is what I would have guessed. But "difficult person" seems a stretch.

Mathprofrockstar, the paper Chambers says 'a difficult or unpleasant thing or person'.

Thanks for that, Math.... I wonder if your version will make it into Chambers?

Math - You could always consider installing the Chambers Dictionary on to your phone or tablet. It's probably about $10 - 15.
