So far, there seem to be several fishy answers/clues. Is this significant?

Only in the broadest sense, dylan ('something fishy going on') but strictly/thematically, no.

Taken hours to get this far. Got the source, found the weapon, get the very clever title but still struggling with clues! Can anyone help with 16a, 19a or 22a please?

Finally struggled to the end - what a super puzzle. There are a large number of extremely devious clues - some of the answers of which I am still struggling to parse - namely 15a and 29d. I found the letter movements in the down clues particularly difficult to spot even when I knew which letter had to move. The end grid is very cleverly constructed, and in my version all final entries are found in Chambers.

16 is a verb meaning to put on with a 2 letter word for a space inside it.

I should have said fgsitw.
19 is in Bradford's as an explosive. I'd never come across it before. The wordplay involves 2 2 letter words.
22 sole is the definition (not the fish)

16a - is "space" in "put on" 2&3
19a - is provided + success 2&2
22a - is found in Bradfords for a type of fish - abbreviation for "before a meal" backwards with another fish inside 2&4

I hope that helps without giving too much away

Gitto, 15 is a combination of two words both missing the c (cape)

As far as 29 is concerned, Gitto, I think the last 4 letters of the answer refer to the "score".
