I haven't looked at the puzzle yet, but have started this thread in case it's needed!

Thanks, Malone. Replying to Gitto in the other thread, I think that 11a, 14a and 15a will have to be modified. There is an important difference between E alone and E with two dots over it, but I suppose the same could be said of French words with and without accents, and we do not usually put the accents in, so perhaps 14a could be left alone without penalty. Whether leaving 11a unchanged would be penalised is another matter.

Need hints on 24a,25a and two down clues.

24 Pardon servant having run away, who
dismissed augurs for Cawdor (7)
25 Grinding down worn-out hospital amid local
strike … (7)

Renowned actress accurately depicts nurse
without bared torso (10;2)

Departs in a tizz with no time afforded (16;6)

Also at 17d, I can make a word meaning esoteric or secret.

Is that correct?

Thanks.

Departs…. an anagram (in a tizz), with 'with no time' leading to the removal of a letter. The definition is at the end.

24 The answer is very Scottish, I'm struggling to come up with a decent clue!

25 Definition = grinding. Three-letter hospital and four-letter strike, beat etc.

Oops. I had 25a. I meant 26a.
Got departs now,

augurs of Cawdor has MacBeth reference but no idea what that is.

26a is an anagram of sent i.

I haven't got 24 or 25 yet.

Thanks, malone. Like an astronaut with a letter missing! I'd like to hear from anyone Scottish how often they use these words.
