Here's another wrong "underestimated" (about Rio Tinto destroying sacred aboriginal sites in Australia):

"There are less than a handful of known Aboriginal sites in Australia that are as old as this one... its importance cannot be underestimated," Reuters news agency quoted him as saying.

Thanks, Orson. It's always good to get confirmation that one hasn't oneself made a mistake.

With 'protege' it does help to know the French 'proteger' = to protect. So the protege is taken under someone's wing.

Forgive the acute lack of accents!

Thanks for your posting re cricket on another thread. I have enjoyed following the County Cricket and am pleased that my county, Worcs are doing so well. Interesting that Derby and Leics also made good starts. Nice to have a Championship that anyone can win - possibly Yorks - Somerset final?

I wont be watching the rubbish that has just started.

I expected Lancs to do better, but think it might be Somerst - Essex final.

I might watch T20 v Pakistan tomorrow as it is on BBc

Good to hear from you - it`s such a shame the rain is spoiling things when so much work has gone into getting the cricket season underway.
I have to force myself to watch T20 `cricket`- usually with the sound muted to avoid the incessant chat of the commentators.
Donny are at Blackburn today in the EFL Cup - battle of the Rovers!

London tube station apostrophe usage. King's Cross and Earl's Court carry apostrophes while Queens Road, Parsons Green and Barons Court do not. St James’s Park is on the money

Lord`s Cricket Ground correctly has an apostrophe because it`s named after its founder ... Thomas Lord.

Times yesterday:

22A Go first in division after gaining three points (4)

Surely "Wind" is a better answer than the published "Wend"?

Grunger, I think 'wind' would work for all the sports-liking people who know that a win usually gets three points. For others (me), the three points were W, E and N.
