I don't think so, grunger - there isn't a definition for wind.

wend is "go" (as in "wend ones way home"). First in Division after the compass points W, E, and N.

Thanks

I was thinking "wind" in the sense

The river winds (goes) through the valley.

and "gaining" tends to indicate Win

yes I put in Wind too.

I didnt think of wend but to have a second collection of random letters (R-ebecca) being the other cant be right.

REBECCA I think the clue was: Girl runs with bunch of keys (8)

I think it's fair enough if after R for runs we have musical notes. I spent a long time wondering if there was a weird word for islands.

yes I thought Rebecca was fair and I liked it too. My complaint is that a second collection of un-ordered letters is used in the WENd answer. This cant be right so I think the answer should be WINd.

Cant solve your clue sorry

Jigjag, thanks.

The two sets of random letters didn't bother me too much - maybe because one involved notes, the other compass points. I don't think Wind is as good an answer, unless it's commonly used for Go.

Thanks. It seemed odd to have 2 sets of random letters - possibly CBUAU to go back to that!

I use "The river winds..." and , more often, I am going to wind my way down to the pub.

I never use "wend" but it could be that my English is wrong.
