That's alright, Mamya. I'm not falling out with you.

Pigale, thanks for your comment. Though I'm not predicting what might happen in the same circumstances on this forum, I have seen what can go wrong when moderators are used.

Yes, there is a Chardonnay wine from Eastern France called Meursault. I don't know much about wine. Is it any good ?

Camus wrote about Mersault in 'A Happy Death', which is kind of the antithesis of capitalism : Mersault killed someone to get money so that he wouldn't have to spend the rest of his life getting money in order to be happy. But that's not who Meursault is. He was a later Camus character in 'The Stranger', who also killed someone. But his motives were altogether less clear, and much of the book is taken up by the argument as to whether he really needs to explain to other people what he has done.

Yes Meursault, I have read 'The Stranger' and Camus' character is
in fact a stranger to social community, to life's beliefs, etc; at first
I thought that it was going to be the story of someone foreign
(stranger as from abroad), whereas in fact it is the story of someone
the writer, who feels a stranger about everything about him. I
probably did not enjoy it as much as I should have, it was one of
our study books at the Lycée.

Meursault wine is very very good (as far as I am concern anyway)
and also quite expensive! Just a look and in Auchan (Hyper market)
the cheapest bottle is at 35 euros, but I don't think it is the best!
I reckon it would be better to pay something like 50 to 60 Euros!

Regarding all this talk of "moderators" on the "other site"( where innocent posts and threads are deleted, sometimes without any foundation)
I have to stress that those forum members here who offered their services to delete the pages of "foreign spam"(eminating from India,Korea,) had no intention whatever to do anything beyond that.

Removal of posts where someone is offensive/ swearing/bullying/ etc are solely the responsibily and at the discretion of Norah and Ash and always should be.

Good morning, Jazzgirl. Probably I've said too much, there seems to be a risk of giving offence in such discussions. I hope you'll excuse my interruption.

Hi Pigale, yes, I suppose that is part of the reason why 'étranger' was translated to 'outsider'. I think many people are outsiders at different times, some more profoundly so than others. For example autists. Did you ever read Return to Tipasa ? I think it's very well written, about how things are different when you go back, and you yourself are also different...

I do not know how such tasks as "moderating" by "selected" members of the Forum would work.......but the fact that illicit tampering of genuine posts appears to have taken place elsewhere, under the guise of "official" moderating is not a good example.
This is a friendly "family -run "forum.
Norah and Ash do a great job and there is a happy convivial atmosphere.
Let us leave it like that.......
i do not see the necessity for vigilantes....aka moderators.
We can cope with the spam until Ash devises a way to eliminate it totally.

Of course , I think we are all in agreement now.
Folk were only trying to help out with the influx of foreign stuff (nothing more)
Norah and Ash have now made it clear that they will continue to be the sole admin. on this forum. Good.

Happy and peaceful Easter to them and to all !
(and happy bumping)
