Despite me saying I was done with this one I've persevered and with help from contributors on here have only 1 clue left -
21d: Looked after vehicle Walford geezer stole.
I think I have ?CO? One of the blanks must be a symbol.
(I know help was given earlier with this clue but I'm still stumped lol.)
I have 'sepsis' for 8d, 'seiners' for 22a and 'end' for 23d, none of which I can parse.
Any hints gratefully received!

23a ... that symbol in the clue can also be called endash ... half of it is end

8d the dots are ellipsis , lose ill(unwell) + the s (singular , anagrammed gives sepsis I think

21d car is the vehicle
a walford geezer i.e. an east ender of London would say e took ( he stole) ... gives caretook caret is the symbol that goes in the first cell

not quite sure of all the parse for seiners although n could come from last letter of the hyphen symbol?

looks like your 24a might be wrong if you have C for the 1st letter
it is an anagram of nationhoods minus dot (the symbol here) + n

Thanks sudokulover.
Yes, my 24ac was wrong. I see how to solve that now. Endash? - that's a new one on me!
Thought I'd finished but just found I haven't solved 9a. I read the help given earlier but am still stuck...
