I'll withdraw my suggestion of RICH for 11a! The word lavish seems to come from Old French and means a deluge of RAIN.

When subtracting a large number from a smaller number, you need to 'borrow'.

Regarding OXTAIL, the best I can come up with is OX= "outfox" disheartened (i.e., remove utfo) followed by TAIL for base.

A bit tortuous maybe, but unless anyone has a better suggestion....

Reprise of 10A A jolly might (3) AIM? Recall Rikki Fulton's TV character Rev. I.M. Jolly. Thus 'a jolly' ' could be AIM and an aim is what 'might' be or come about.

As pointed out earlier, a jolly is a RM (Royal Marine).
Arm looks good.

Rusry I was aware of previous posts which is why I used the word 'reprise'. I agree that ARM looks good but so too does AIM. Myops not us must decide.
