For 11 across everyone seems to be in doubt as to how to parse rain. Obviously right as rain is the standard, think about lavishing gifts on someone. You'd "shower" them with gifts or maybe "rain" gifts on them,wouldn't you?

Is 11a not RICH? R+ICH (an international pharmaceutical standard)?

That would throw out 2 down which gives the 'i' in 'Rain'.
