Try looking diagonally top left and top right of the grid.

If you go back to page 5 and the two contributions by xij you will find out where the second word starts. The first word is in the same direction but starting further to the left.

unclued, thanks for the recommendation but unfortunately I don't have an ipad. After a long respite from solving Listeners I have only recently come back to them. What a beast as you remarked ! If this is an example of what's to come maybe I should invest in an ipad ! Cheers

Notrab, if you look up the Title on wikipedia, the Contest is confirmed as a subtitle. The diagonals of the Contest must intersect with at least one unravelled Secret Sign.

This one needed a health warning. I've had to go and lie down in a darkened room!

Having completed everything else without help, I am still struggling to find the secret Sign in row 9. Is it listed in Chambers?

Ozzy, I had the same problem. Not in my Chambers or Bradford.Look at meursault's message no 5. That gave it to me.
