My village is cut off by floods. I have not been able to visit my relatives as planned, so found the last Independent in the local shop to cheer myself up. I am finding the Inquisitor mysterious although I have filled much of the grid in. Anyone else in the same boat (ARK)?

For six clues you have to insert three letters (all of a type) into the answers to make another proper word which has nothing to do with the clue.

I don't understand the solution to the cube of letters at all. however using the theme and the central letters to the answers of the face-to-face clues it seems clear what the word to be written under the Grid should be. Am I missing something ?

I don't know if you're missing anything, Kobnut - but the cube seems an added complication to me. I decided to ignore it!

15a - For all to see is U (cinema), end of innkeepers is S, all inside a charge FEE.

Here I am again. I must be a pain...looking at the face to face clues and assuming the first one is Adam, please tell me how and where to look for it in the grid which I have completed with your shoves...
