Tomsdad, I see what you mean, but how does the first letter of each addition at the top left cell of each grid come into play?

Kobnut, only in showing the position of each grid. The four centre squares of each grid are the ones involved with the face to face clues.

100% finished now! What a great puzzle for Christmas! It took a while to work out how to draw the 3D cube but got there in the end and it enabled me to solve my last face to face clue by seeing what options were left.

Well done, Tomsdad. You deserve to win the prosecco for that!!
