unclued

Dryden - the title is a huge clue in itself - think about it cryptically.
I nearly made the mistake of putting in DRAM for 21dn - be careful!
Can anyone explain how 19ac is TALBOTS. I just can't see it. Thanks.

Dryden, I noted the same ambiguity ("four related words of the same length"). I believe this was just clumsiness by the setter, and unintentional. Hopefully most solvers will see quite quickly that it means : "four related words the same length as each other."

There is another more serious ambiguity, which may be deliberate, occurring in the phrase "an introduction to a famous individual." I accepted immediately that the use of the word "individual" is legitimate, however it was the use of the word "to" that is highly ambiguous. That is until you look in Chambers at the definitions for "to", one of which has 4 words. It is a commonly used definition, but wouldn't normally be used in the context "introduction to."

Unclued, I think TALBOTS is just a reversal : STO(P), BLAT

My sight-reading is useless, but since my last post I managed to find a useful internet site that enabled me to hear that sequence, which confirmed what I was beginning to suspect from the title. Thanks for replies to my post, just the sort of hints that I find useful without giving away the whole game, but in this case a vigorous swim got the brain active and I got there under my own steam.
I haven't yet fully traced the individual but I can see what's going on.

Meursault, I think 'to' is probably OK. Surely that sequence is an introduction, and it's not performed by the individual concerned, so it is correct to say it's an introduction to the individual.

...and if you substitute the 4 words I was talking about for the word 'to', the phrase becomes more logical...

I'm being a bit slow this week.

Could someone give me a slightly less subtle hint for the four related words?

Thanks.

Convert words to their respective notes. Then follow instructions from down clues.
