I have virtually finished this ( need just 42 across and 21 and 32 down ). I think that 21 down should be terga but cannot see why. Similarly I can see Yves for 42 acroos ( even though it is normally a boy's name ) but then the only possibility for 32 down would be foray and, again, I cannot see why. Any nudges in the right direction would be appreciated.

I agree that 42a is YVES which is a boy's name (the equivalent girl's name is YVETTE). This is surely an error by the setter.

For 32d MARE & MAYOR are the homophones.

I cannot understand why 21d is TERGA but I have TERG? so it seems inevitable. I have identified the 12 homophone-clues so it can't be another can it? (GREAT / GRATE would result in TERGA but I can't justify them either)

Many thanks for that Bananabean. You have resolved the south-eastern corner for me and I shall keep looking at 21 down.

42a Yves is a homophone of Eve

I'm still struggling with the explanation for 21d

If 42a is thematic, then an anagram of YVES should be entered. If not, there's nothing in the wordplay to indicate it's a sound-alike clue.

The clue for 21 down is almost identical to that for 27 down and the only answer that fits (terga) makes no sense whatsoever. It looks like an error to me.

Finally in a position to agree with the earlier posts re 42A and 21D, definitely have my 6+6 non-standards. I'm working from a print edition...I guess they'll make a correction online?...has to be terga and yves regardless as nothing else fits!

Anyone had any further thoughts or info on whether 21D and 42A are errors?

Looking at it off & on for a few days, still stumped by 15A. Seems like it must be thematic but not knowing if 21 or 42 are, I can't be sure. Help appreciated!
